Tried and True Recipes

These are all miscellaneous recipes I've tried and recommend.

Apple Dumplings
(a friend made these at work and they were scrumptious...)

1.5 C butter
1.5 C sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
(Melt above ingredients in pot)

2 pkgs crescent rolls
2 peeled apples, each cut into 8 pieces

Roll apple into crescent roll, put in 9x 13 pan. Pour sugar mix over top. Pour 1 can Mountain Dew over the top. Bake 45 min at 350.

Loading Dock Salsa
(great dip recipe from Grafton's Loading Dock)

1 - 0.7 oz Good Season’s Italian dressing mix
1/3 C. vinegar
1/2 C. vegetable oil
4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
4 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 – 4oz. can chopped green chilies
1 – 4oz. can chopped black olives
3 green onions chopped (long)
1 ripe tomato chopped (large)
1 – 8oz. package tortilla chips

Combine dressing mix, vinegar and oil as directed on dressing mix packet. Set aside. In a 2-quart bowl combine cheeses, chilies, olives, green onions, and tomato. Add dressing. Stir gently to combine. Serve with tortilla chips.

Pear Salad
(really good and light summer salad, also pretty for Christmas)

1 small package lime Jello
4 oz. cream cheese
1 (8-oz.) container Cool Whip
1 large can pears, well drained (reserve 1 c. juice)

Dissolve Jello in 1 cup boiling pear juice. Place in refrigerator until Jello just begins to set. In blender, mix pears and cream cheese. Blend in Jello. In large mixing bowl, fold together Jello mixture and Cool Whip. Pour into 8x8-inch baking pan and chill until set.
